There are diverse habits concerning not only the ways of drinking coffee – in Ethiopia some salt is added and in Morocco they ussually put a bit of pepper – but also in the preparation methods:
Formats and versions of coffee:
Espresso: Darker and more intense than filtered coffee.
Expresso macchiato: One part of milk is added on top of the espresso coffee
Viennese coffee: Simple or double espresso coffee, covered with whipped cream
Ristretto: More Dark, prepared with half the water found in an espresso. Concentrated and with less caffeine than an espresso.
American coffee: Lighter and longer coffee.
Espresso with milk: Coffee with added milk.
Coffee drop: Milk with added coffee.
Cappuccino: The espresso is served on a big mug with added foamy milk.
Irish Coffee: Eight parts of espresso coffee with one part of whisky and sugar. Whipped cream is placed on top.
